Litigation Legal Assistant – 12 Month FTC

Sutton Coldfield

Up to c£25,000 per annum, commensurate with experience

We are working with a very well-established, Lexcel accredited national law firm, employing over 400 staff, who are looking to attract an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support their busy and successful team based in Sutton Coldfield on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. 

This role would suit someone with experience of working in a litigation department.  Full training and support will be provided, for you to excel in this role. 

The role would involve:

  • Providing support to a busy Litigation Solicitor 
  • Preparing correspondence using a legal case management system
  • Attending to clients both on the telephone and in person
  • Carrying out searches online using HMLR portal and Companies House 
  • Opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files.
  • Preparing mail and enclosures for dispatch
  • Arranging the scanning and photocopying of paperwork
  • Typing and using dictation software 
  • Creating court documents using templates
  • Preparing bundles for court hearings and Counsel
  • Diary management
  • Typing witness statements and taking notes of meetings
  • Preparing monthly bills/invoices onto the case management system and sending onto to clients

Suitable candidates will have:

  • Have experience and knowledge of working within a Litigation department 
  • Have the ability to undertake searches and ID checks 
  • High levels of speed and accuracy
  • A good telephone manner and be comfortable speaking with clients both on the telephone and in person
  • Good organisational skills and an adaptable, methodical approach to work
  • Good keyboard skills with a high level of speed and accuracy 

This is a full time permanent job, working 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday for 12 months on a fixed term contract basis.
