Experience:
Team Leader/Solicitor – Bodily Injury
• Managing a team of Client insurance handlers / litigators dealing with a mixed caseload of portal claims and litigated RTA claims
• Performance management, technical supervision and coaching, combined with compliance
• Review of fraud investigations
• Complaints investigation, speaking to relevant parties, resolving or escalating as appropriate
• Litigation supervision of litigators considering tactical offer settlement of large quantum cases, contact trail with the large loss team on potential referrals depending on value, assessing medical records with the litigator to ensure the client care letter has a detailed plan of action for the case and to ensure we comply with client needs
• Running own caseload of litigated files
Defendant Solicitor
• Dealing with a caseload of litigated noise induced hearing loss claim from initial proceedings to trial
• Investigating litigated claims and preparing detailed reports
• Obtaining relevant evidence to complete all investigations for quantum and liability disputes
• Complying with Court directions, preparing instructions for Counsel for Trial/Application hearing and communication with other insurers
Claimant Solicitor
• Dealing with a caseload of fast-track files and MOJ portal complaint files
• Assessing quantum and liability
• Investigating fraud allegations or causation
• Obtaining engineering evidence to assess damage and diminution
• Preparing detailed witness statements and locus reports
• Reviewing medical reports and records and assessing quantum
• Claimant Solicitor, dealing with a caseload of fast track MOJ portal claims from initial instructions to settlement
• Meeting deadlines and settlement targets and dealing with large number of complaints and limitation cases
• Regular calls with the client on limitation and complaint files to prevent further issues and complaints
• Reviewing medical reports, assessing quantum, and submitting claims on the portal and negotiating settlement
• Training Legal Assistants specifically with regards to progressing files, reviewing medical evidence and supervising settlement offers
Solicitor
• Managing a mixed caseload of industrial disease claims and road traffic accident and EL/PL claims from initial instructions to litigation
• Taking detailed initial instructions from the Client and preparing witness reports
• Reviewing medical evidence, liability and causation issues and instructing relevant experts
• Assisting Team Leader duties involved mentoring small team of paralegals and admin assistants, providing guidance and some support to new trainee paralegals
