Part -time (3 days p/w) or full-time Wills and Probate Legal Secretary

Legal Secretary to Director and Private Client / Wills and Probate Department Head

Location: Towcester

Salary: Up to £27,000 per annum (pro-rata for part time)

We are delighted to partner with a prestigious, Legal 500-listed, Lexcel and STEP accredited law firm, who are seeking an experienced Private Client Legal Secretary to directly support the Head of Private Client Department and the Director. This is a part time role, working 3 days per week, however full-time hours will also be considered.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual looking for a fulfilling role supporting both the Private Client Department Head and the Director.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Providing direct secretarial and administrative support to Director and Head of Department
  • Audio typing and copy typing of correspondence and legal documents including Wills and LPA’s 
  • File opening, closure, storage, and retrieval from archive 
  • Preparation of mails and enclosures for dispatch
  • Diary management, arranging meetings etc
  • Liaising with clients, other solicitors, probate office, banks and other professional third parties 
  • Providing support to colleagues 
  • Answering incoming calls, directing them to the relevant people and/or taking detailed messages

Suitable candidates will have:

  • Previous legal secretarial experience, specifically within Private Client/Wills and Probate
  • Experience of audio and copy typing
  • Experience of drafting legal documents relating to wills and probate
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

This is a permanent job which is fully office-based. The role is full-time, however we will also consider suitably experienced candidates who are seeking reduced hours. Please state hours required on application.
