Head of Dispute Resolution
Location: Banbury with hybrid working
Salary up to £70,000 per annum
We are working with a well-established, highly regarded, multi-office law firm who are looking to attract an experienced Dispute Resolution Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to lead their Dispute Resolution Department across their branch network.
What’s involved?
- Leading and managing the Dispute Resolution Department, including financial management and budgeting, compliance, mentoring and development of the Dispute Resolution team.
- Managing your own dispute resolution caseload of civil litigation matters
- Drafting of correspondence, briefs, court documents, attendance notes and statements of evidence.
- Keeping clients updated regarding courses of action, likely outcomes and costs involved
- Liaising with experts, enquiry agents, costs draftspersons and counsel
- Conducting advocacy
- Overseeing and monitoring the department’s budget
- Ensuring department staff have clear training and development plans
- Conducting performance and file reviews for all team members.
Who we’re looking for:
Suitable candidates are likely to have:
- Qualified status – solicitor or chartered legal executive
- Sound experience of running a dispute resolution caseload, leading on complex matters
- The ability to lead and inspire a team
- Full clean driving license and use of a car
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to treat clients with sensitivity
What’s on offer?
This is a full-time permanent job, working 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (35 hours per week)
Homeworking will be accommodated 2 days per week, following initial onboarding period
