Legal Secretary – Private Client/Wills and Probate Department

Location: Leamington Spa

Salary: c£25,000 per annum – negotiable, commensurate with experience

We are working in partnership with a well-established Lexcel accredited, multi-office law firm who are looking to attract an experienced Private Client Legal Secretary to join their busy, friendly team in Leamington Spa town centre.

The role will involve:

  • Providing a full secretarial and administration service to the Private Client Department 
  • Undertaking typing and secretarial work for multiple Fee Earners
  • Assisting when needed across the Department as part of the Private Client support team
  • Dealing with telephone calls from clients, liaising with Fee Earners where appropriate
  • Liaising with clients by phone, email and face to face in Reception 
  • Preparing files for the next day’s appointments            
  • Making appointments for clients
  • Carrying out conflict checks on new clients         
  • Providing reception cover on occasion
  • Preparing invoices and monthly cost schedules for clients 

Knowledge and Experience:

  • At least one years’ experience within a Private Client/Wills and Probate Department
  • Experience of dealing with wills, powers of attorney and estate administration
  • Experience of using Microsoft Outlook and Word
  • Experience of using a legal case management system
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, as well as working well within a team environment
  • The ability to handle awkward situations and difficult clients in a calm, kind and professional manner

This is a full time permanent job working 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (35 hours per week) and will be fully office-based.
